Leaving, Returning

We live, we learn, we leave, return;
 fly south and north, the back and forth,
 the fifth, the sixth, the palimpsest.

Our journal faded, overwritten,
never lost;
forgot;
forgiven.

We meet, we sleep, we meet again;
again
again
again
again
.

  1. I love everything about this... such an arresting image, and palimpsest... such the perfect, perfect word.

  2. so now i have to go look up the word palimpsest. writers often use words i am not familar with. the rest of your words... as a life long believer in reincarnation, i take your first words:
    We live, we learn, we leave, return;
    as an affirmation of my belief. the whole writing is one of thoughtful beautiful words.
    in fond regard, Tilda

  3. You know, some days life feels a little bit like a hamster wheel to me, but the way you describe it is SO much more meaningful. I'm bookmarking this page for the next time I feel like that.
