Cottonwhite ~ L'assemblage by Michael Douglas Jones  ©2021

Original artwork available at Gallery 322

The slightest snowfall overnight, fresh cover of cottonwhite, a clean page for the day's poetry.

Up and over the ridge, written on the paperwhite of fresh snow, the meandering graceful script of buck and doe.

Wrapped in Wonder

Wrapped in Wonder ~ L'assemblage by Michael Douglas Jones  ©2021

Original artwork SOLD at Gallery 322

From a rowhouse window, I watch the slightest sliver of waning crescent, quiet as candlelight, still as the edge of the eastern horizon, in the crisp November night, three hours before it disappears into dawn. The room is at rest, ready for December, and I am wrapped in winter wool, writing in the waning light of two wax tapers. Waxing, waning, and moving toward new moon, where we begin again.
